One of Hollywood’s biggest production companies is supporting Kern County in shooting a movie that millions have been waiting for. Paramount Producers are filming the next Star Trek movie immediately outside Bakersfield. For millions of Star Trek fans an fretful wait is almost over and characters from the legendary television series and theatrical space drama beaming into Kern County for some scenes. The movie isn’t finished but the movie preview is already is on the internet. Director J.J. Abrams who bound for Mission Impossible Three is in Kern County directing “Star Trek: The Prequel.†The Star Trek movie will include Winona Ryder and Chris Pine as a young James T. Kirk. Producers say this Star Trek will present a young, new staff.
